So I'm sure everyone by now has seen the royal wedding comparison quartet, right?
It's amusing, and clever.
But not for real:

I was thinking that Cinderella had blonde hair, didn't she? Oh wait, duh! She does :)
Spoil sport. That's okay by me though :)

Day 7 - Picture...Pictures!
Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item.
So I did one before that was "A photo of something that means a lot to you."
But I guess this is different enough.
But now I have to pick a "most treasured" thing. I treasure a lot of things, but nothing "most" so, at least that comes to mind.
Actually...if my house were to catch on fire...
Well, I'd be devastated to lose the house, and not just because it cost lots of money.
But the thing I always think about being most sad to lose are my pictures.
But luckily most of them are digital and we've backed them up elsewhere so it's not likely I'll lose all of them (though perhaps many of them...let's do another backup!)

Day 6 - Enchanted by Ella
Day 6 - A picture of a person you’d love to trade places with for a day.
So, since Blogger deleted this post, I'm going at it again half-a'd style. :)
I wouldn't want to trade places with a real person because I would be trading good things for not as good things, or something, so I prefer a fictional character, even though her life could be seen as crap, in some ways.
I love the book Ella Enchanted. The movie is cute and I'm glad it's silly because they couldn't have done the book real justice if they actually tried to recreate it visually. However, the book only has the covers for a picture and that doesn't at all do justice to what Ella goes through...but the movie has one or two shots that can pretend to be something remotely like the book :)

Ella is resourceful, smart, classic, classy, and clever. Her life is fantastic, even if she has do deal with an annoying curse. I wouldn't mind being her.

Day 5 - Young Fun Friendship
Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory.
Alright, so this may end up stuck away in the right date, but if anyone's paying attention -- or actually reads this far back -- I'm only just getting caught up. I have the hardest time picking these things. Really, the ability to post back-dated is probably a bad thing because I never get around to the ones that were hard. Oh well. I'm getting to them now! :)
As I think I've mentioned before, I've always wanted friends that I can have forever, with a deep relationship that I know I can rely on. Also as I think I've mentioned before, I often feel like I haven't been able to keep a friendship like that. Oh well.
Along with that, I've been nostalgic lately. So I finally have a memory strand that may or may not be my favorite, but is at least worth blogging about.
I miss having a best friend. Not John, mind you, because a husband best friend is definitely different than another best friend. More specifically, I miss my best friend Holly.
From Jr. High to mid-High School, we were inseparable. I thrived on that friendship. I wasn't as good of a friend as I could have been sometimes, but I loved having someone who I knew I could rely on for talking, time, fun, whatever.
I have a lot of memories with Holly. Some of my favorite are just when we hung out after school. Or when we walked home from school. Or when we supported each other: going to all of her performances was fun.
I love to spoil people, and I took full advantage of that with Holly. I always tried to make sure her birthday was a blast.
I think this was her 14th:
I bought that frog a month in advance. Her favorite animal was frogs so I got it when I saw it on sale after Valentine's Day. She called herself Halollypop sometimes, so I got her lollipops, and I made a ton of paper ones. Then I plotted with her mother so I could get in her room while she was gone. I had so much fun doing that, and I'm pretty sure she enjoyed it too. (I wasn't there when she came home)
We had fun with other activities together, like the Social/Ballroom Dance Team
We stuck together when going from Jr. High to High school together
And I got to go on a lot of dates in High School so that she could go on dates with her boyfriends
We had fun, and we had good times. We drifted apart, I'm still not sure exactly how.
I've missed her like mad ever since, but I always feel stupid, immature, and awkward whenever I try to mend whatever broke us. I suppose I should just get over it and move on.
At least I'll have memories.

Day 4 - House and Tacos
I'm really upset because I finished and posted these, but Blogger magically made them disappear. Sigh. Starting over...slightly more lazily
Day 4 - A picture of your night.
We took John's parents to see soon-to-be our house
And we went to an amazing Mexican place not too far. It was delicious!

Day 3 - Win-nore Girls
4Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.
Ya know, I think they win. I watched every last episode the first two weeks of my second semester of college. I LOVED it, and I really don't think I've found one I like quite as much. No, it's not a perfect show but it's got everything I love. Like the fact that its'a drawn-out story and not just the same basic thing over and over again, like a lot of TV shows out there. This one is a great story. I love the characters, I love the personality, I love the stories. Yup. Gilmore Girls wins. :)

Day 2 - Forever Frister!
Day 2 - A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.
Miss Sarah Lynn Johnson!
Sarah and I have been friends since we were 1.5 years old. Or so we figure. She moved (with her family, silly. Babies don't move across states all by themselves) from California to the house across the street in January of '92. We were born 4 days apart in June of 1990. And for as long as we can remember we've been besties.
And the best kind of besties: we've been fristers! We claim the name and no one else can drive it to fame! (okay, so I'm not that clever) We're friends that might as well be sisters. And I've long thought that is more true with us than many girls claim. :P
We practically raised each other and we have had a distinct influence on each other's lives. Like sisters :)
But we haven't stayed best-best friends always. In fact, I can remember few times when Sarah and I have been each other's main or only best friend. I think this is one of the biggest reasons we're more like sisters than most other best friends. Sure you're friends with your sister, but you have other friends who come first on the "friends" list because your sister comes first on the sister list. And yet I will always and have always considered Sarah one of my best friends, keeping up with that consistency that comes with sisterhood.
Another reason we're totally awesomely fristers is because she is ALWAYS there. I've run through my other best friends much too fast for my liking, but Sarah is always there. When I need to talk or hang out or anything, she's there. When someone else isn't available, around, or my friend anymore, she's there.
Sarah knows my history and my family almost as well as she knows her own. She could probably name my nieces and nephews better than most of their uncles and aunts can, and several of my nieces and nephews even call her their "fake Aunt Sarah."
Even when I've been mad at her (usually for stupid reasons) or we haven't talked in far too long, we can pick life up as if we'd never left off.
I've always known she'd be my Maid of Honor (or Matron, but we both knew I'm way too boy-crazy to go long being single) at my wedding. When I told her I was getting married and, duh, that's her role, she was like, "Are you sure?" Hahahahahaha, silly woman, who else would it be? But of course she was perfect for the part and she was an amazing choice, even if we weren't fristers.
The funny part is, those 7 pictures up there pretty much sum up pictures of us. We realized when we were about 15 that we didn't have a single picture of just the two of us. Always with a group, or just one of us on an occasion when we were together. Since then we've tried to get more of the two of us, because being the only, or at least best, fristers in the world constitutes that we should have some documentation of such a relationship. But even with our efforts, there is a definite lacking in pictures of us. I have a handful at my wedding because she was my Maid of Honor, but even still there are few because they're replaced by pictures of me with all my Bridesmaids. I guess that's our story :)
I mean, how often do you get family pictures done with just pair of sisters? ;)
